Carlton Cole wants a West Ham United return following his decision not to sign a new Upton Park deal.
But club sources have told SportsDirect
News there's no chance of it happening and that "it's time to move on."Cole had wanted around £45,000 a week during negotiations ahead of his departure but the club offer was below that at around £35,000.
The Hammers have been unable to attract a second striker to the club following the front man's departure but his apparent change of heart has received a cool response.
He is known to have general injury and wear and tear problems to his knees which may also have been partly responsible for the lack of offers he's received this summer.
Now he would love a chance to accept a cut price deal but at the moment there's no movement from the club and the fact they are up to their wages limit would make it difficult anyway.
A source close to Cole said: "Carlton has thought things through and is keeping his fingers crossed it might happen."
But a highly-placed club source: "We have to move on. Carlton has his injury worries and we need to move forward."
Were there to be any change of heart SportsDirect News understands it could only be on a pay as you play arrangement.
