LAMBERT DISMISSES SUGGESTIONS HE BREEDS BULLIES

Lambert was stung by remarks made by Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger on the opening day of the season.
Wenger said his side had been “bullied” out of it in Villa’s 3-1 win at the Emirates Stadium.
But Lambert insisted his side are too small to be over-physical and hit back at Wenger’s comments.
The Villa boss said: “Have you seen my midfield?
“They are 5ft 4in. How can they bully anyone?
“They’re footballers. I don't think I have a dirty player in my side.
“We play hard and fair. We never intend to go and kick anyone.
“I don't have the players for that. I don't play that way.
“No. I don't buy into that.”
Villa have made an impressive start to the season despite picking up three points from a possible nine.
They had been handed a difficult start against Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool.
But even though they lost the final two thirds of the opening week, Lambert’s side have shown signs they will improve hugely from last season.
Lambert now has a three-week break from the Premier League and will begin his League Cup campaign against Rotherham on Wednesday.
But he maintains that he will not become over-physical in his bid to get results this season.
Lambert added:  “We’ve played fantastically well. But you have to be prepared to go into tackles and be prepared to get hurt.
“You have to be prepared to press people when you can.”
