SPURS HUNTING DANISH PLAYMAKER ERIKSEN

Tottenham Hotspur are understood to be lining up a bid for Ajax midfielder Christian Eriksen.

Spurs were close to agreeing a deal with fellow midfielder Willian after Anzhi Makhachkala accepted a fee for his signature and underwent a medical at White Hart Lane but the player instead signed for their Premier League rivals Chelsea.
The north London club are expected to sell Gareth Bale to Real Madrid in the next 48 hours for a world-record transfer fee and Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas is planning to bring in new players to replace the Wales international.
Spurs are nearing a deal with Erik Lamela for his transfer to White Hart Lane and SportsDirect News understands Tottenham are also preparing an offer to Ajax for the signature of Eriksen.
The 21-year-old is considered as one of the hottest young talents in Europe at the moment and has previously stated his desire for a new challenge.
Tottenham are likely to face competition from Liverpool for the Danish international with Reds boss Brendan Rodgers known to be an admirer of the playmaker.
