CONCACAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE REVIEW

Los Angeles Galaxy secured their passage to the quarter-finals of the CONCACAF Champions League with a 3-0 win at Cartagines.
The Major League Soccer side made a superb start against their Costa Rican opponents with John McBean opening the scoring after only five minutes.
Eleven minutes later it was 2-0 when Chandler Hoffman converted Michael Stephens' assist, before Laurent Courtois rounded out the victory in the 30th minute.
Victory for Bruce Arena's team means the Galaxy have an unassailable lead at the top of Group 8 with one game left to play in the CONCACAF Champions League group stage
Houston Dynamo put their fate in their own hands with a 2-0 home victory over Trinidad and Tobago's W Connection.
Goals either side of half-time to Jason Johnson and Robert Boswell secured the valuable three points to lift Dynamo to top of Group 1, with a one-point advantage over Panama's Arabe Unido.
Dynamo will travel to Arabe Unido on the next match day, with a draw or better guaranteeing a quarter-final berth.
Group 6 will also go down to the last game after Guatemala's Comunicaciones defeated Trinidad and Tobago's Caledonia AIA 2-0 with two first-half goals.
Jairo Arreola and Joel Benitez were the scorers with both assists laid on by left-winger Carlos Figueroa.
In the final game in Group 6 on October 23, Toluca, who are top of the group, will host Communicaciones, who are three points behind their Mexican opponents in the standings.
Only a victory will snatch a quarter-final spot for Communicaciones, who must better their 2-1 away defeat at Toluca earlier in the tournament to progress.
