West Ham have agreed a short-term
deal to bring Carlton Cole back to Upton Park as the Hammers look to
bolster a depleted selection of strikers.
The contract is believed to be three months long and is expected to be officially announced in the next 24 hours.
Cole had been linked with a move to QPR recently after the Hammers pulled out of a deal at the beginning of September due to concerns over the striker's fitness. But West Ham have had a change of heart by bringing the 29-year-old back to east London.
Cole spent seven years at West Ham
during his first spell with the club, scoring 47 league goals in 206
games before leaving in the summer.
He made seven appearance for England, the last of which came in 2010, but never scored for his national side.
West Ham are 15th in the Premier League with five points from their first five fixtures.
