Remy, who cost QPR £8million in January but could not prevent relegation, will have a medical on Monday, while Newcastle director of football Joe Kinnear also confirmed they remain in the hunt for Aston Villa's Darren Bent and hope to finalise terms with Lyon's Bafetimbi Gomis.
Kinnear said: 'We're very very close to agreeing that (Remy). Maybe Monday or Tuesday we'll be in a position to say yea or nay.'
