Striker Happy Okuoka’s second minute goal and former Nigerian junior international, Bright Ejike 85th minute goal ensured the troubled Owerri club grabbed the three points over bitter rivals, Pillars.
Breakdown of the monetary figure showed that the side grabbed N500,000 for scoring in the first five minutes of the encounter as promised by their chairman, Fan Ndubuoke and another N250,000 for other goals from the club boss.

“The players are happy and assured the deputy governor that they’ll fight hard to up the fortune of the side in their next matches.
“They equally appreciated the chairman’s large heartedness and promised to do more to lift the fortune of the side.
“There may not be an end to these kinds of motivations as all hands are on deck at the moment to ensure Heartland reclaim their rightful position in the league,” Nkwopara said to supersport.com.
The victory against Kano Pillars has increased Heartland's total points to 37 from a possible 84 and a chance improvement from their hitherto 17th position prior to Week 28 games.
