MBESUMA GETS ZAMBIA CALL UP

Orlando Pirates have confirmed striker Collins Mbesuma will be out for at least one month with an ankle injury, heightening the surprise at his inclusion in the Zambia squad for World Cup duty next week.
The Football Association of Zambia seem oblivious to the injury that the burly forward picked up earlier this month when Pirates beat SuperSport United on post-match penalties in the quarterfinal of the MTN8 at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit.
They named him in a 26-man squad for the World Cup qualifier in Ghana on September 6.
Mbesuma went off early in the match and has
missed two games for the club since – the 4-1 home drubbing of Zamalek in the African Champions League and the victory over Kaizer Chiefs in the first leg of the MTN8 semifinal at Soccer city on Saturday.
He did not travel with the team to Egypt on Tuesday for their return match with Zamalek this Sunday but at the same time got a call-up for international duty.
Pirates coach Roger de Sa said he did not expect Mbesuma back in action until the end of September.
Zambia must beat Ghana in Kumasi to win the group and advance to the last phase of African qualifiers for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
