The Bavarian outfit got the defence of their crown off to an encouraging start on Monday, as a Thomas Mueller hat-trick led them to a 5-0 win over BSV Rehden.
And Guardiola says he was happy to seal progression after the likes of Werder Bremen, Borussia Monchengladbach and FC Nuremberg fell at the first hurdle.
"Cup ties are always dangerous. Four Bundesliga clubs were knocked out. We're satisfied about going through," he told the club's official website.
The Spaniard also acknowledged that he is under immense pressure in every game, as he looks to follow up Jupp Heynckes' near-flawless treble-winning campaign.
"I'm aware of which club I’ve joined, we have to win every match, but that's normal. People always want more. I accept the pressure," he added.
"We've only been together seven weeks so we still have to improve a lot."
Bayern Munich have already surrendered one trophy they won last year, losing the DFL-Supercup to Borussia Dortmund.
