Manchester United have hired one of Japan’s most famous landmarks to unveil their
latest away kit later today and looks very similar to rivals and neighbours Manchester city's newly launched kit as well.
The Barclays Premier League champions unveiled the new strip at Osaka Castle, an ancient
monument that is almost 450 years old.
The castle played a major role in the unification of Japan in the 16th century but will today
form the backdrop for United’s latest kit launch in conjunction with sportswear giant Nike.
The new away shirt has a large black and midnight navy gingham checks and the badge and
sponsors are in white.
United are expected to wear the new kit at some stage on their tour of Asia and could even
use it tomorrow when they play Cerezo Osaka here at the Niigata Stadium.
Manager David Moyes will address the media at 9.45am today ahead of tomorrow’s game that
should include a start for winger Ashley Young.
