The 25-year-old signed a three-year deal at the Hawthorns on transfer deadline day, bringing to an end his long association with Everton.
And though the forward failed to find the back of the net on his debut against Fulham last Saturday, which ended 1-1, he is keen to make his mark for Steve Clarke's side.
The Nigeria international admitted that his physicality is an asset, but told fans that they could expect more of an all-round contribution from him.
"I'm a team player and I have no problem holding the ball up for the team," he told the club's official website.
"'I'll take a battering if that's what the gaffer needs me to do.
"That's what I do and I think most people who've seen me play know that.
"If I can keep adding different qualities to my game, I will keep improving.
"I have a lot of other qualities but when the team need me to, I will offer my strength.
"I'm still young and I have plenty of time to improve. The sky is my limit."
Anichebe will now hope to open his account when West Brom welcome Sunderland on Saturday in a meeting of the Premier League's bottom two clubs.
