Sharks midfielder, Chiamaka Madu, has expressed satisfaction with his team's
progress after their latest victory over Kaduna United moved them off the foot of
the premier league table.
The result lifted Sharks to 19th place above Wikki Tourists, and they now have
the same number of points as Lobi Stars, who are a place above them.
Madu believes it is a reward for their improved form after a poor start to the season, but now
wants the team to push on and build momentum.
He told supersport.com: "We are all happy that we are finally off the bottom of the log.
"The players are happy because they know the effort they have been putting in for some time,
and our movement off the bottom spot is a sign of improvement.
"The improvement would be gradual and the next step is to move out of the relegation zone.
"We have nothing to lose and we'll be gunning for the maximum points irrespective of the
opposition and venue of our matches.
"We have improved a lot as a team since those early days when we threw away careless
points."
Madu reckons that following their elimination from the Federation Cup, they are now focused
firmly on securing their place in the premiership.
"It is rather unfortunate that we lost to Heartland on penalties, because we wanted to
compensate our fans with the Federation Cup for enduring so much," he said.
