FERDINAND REVEALS WEIGHT LOSS
Rio Ferdinand took to Twitter to reveal he lost four kilograms during Manchester United's 2-2 draw thanks to the humidity in Japan.
In another issue concerning the conditions on Premier League clubs' pre-season tour, the United defender said the game was a very hard one for David Moyes' men, who needed a last-minute Wilfried Zaha strike to save slumping to a third defeat from four.
Ferdinand posted: '2-2 vs Cerezo Osaka..very good team, hard game for the lads. Tough humid conditions, I lost 4kgs during the game..90mins played so on we go!'
The news comes after Andre Villas-Boas revealed he wanted to pull his Tottenham side out of the Barclays Asia Cup due to the conditions in Hong Kong.
Jan Vertonghen was injured on a heavily waterlogged pitch as Spurs were beaten 3-1 by Sunderland.
The British and Irish Lions rugby team also struggled with the stifling heat in Hong Kong on their visit before their victorious tour of Australia.
Meanwhile, Moyes confirmed midfielder Shinji Kagawa would not fly to Hong Kong.
The Japan star cut short his holiday in order to feature in both pre-season matches in his homeland.
