SAVIOLA DELIGHTED AT OLYMPIACOS RECEPTION

New Olympiacos signing Javier Saviola
was delighted after being welcomed to
the club by hundreds of fans.
The Greek giants announced their
capture of Saviola on Wednesday, and
just hours later he was greeted by a
large group of the club's supporters at
Olympiacos headquarters.
The Argentinean forward, who has joined on a free transfer after leaving Malaga, was
blown away by his reception.
And Saviola, 31, says he is determined to make the side a force in Europe again.
"That was a very moving and beautiful welcome that demonstrates the love of
Olympiacos fans for the players," Saviola told Olympiacos' official website.
"I hope that during this season I will be able to return this love and boost
Olympiacos to new heights. We really want to become one of the "big boys" in
Europe.
"I am really happy and glad to be here and I will do everything to help make the club
great in Europe."
Saviola has happy memories of playing against Olympiacos and is proud to represent
such a historic club.
"I have encountered Olympiacos in the past; it is a great team to play against because
the club always takes part in Champions League and major tournaments, so I am
very, very pleased," he said.
"I am honoured and privileged to play for this club. I am looking forward to getting
started, meeting my team-mates and beginning practicing and pre-season training,
so I can give the best of me for the team."
Saviola scored nine goals in 37 appearances in all competitions last term, and was
linked with a move to English Championship side QPR.
