GOSLING DEAL CRASHES

Dan Gosling's proposed move to Crystal
Palace is off, the player's agent has
confirmed.
The Newcastle United midfielder looked
set to join the Premier League
newcomers and even completed a
medical at Selhurst Park on Monday.
However, his representative Dave
Hodgson has revealed there had been no further communication from Palace after the
medical, prompting a return to the north-east.
"It’s off, no question. It just wasn’t happening in the way it should have happened so
we decided it was right to set off back to the north," Hodgson told The Shields
Gazette .
"Dan had fulfilled all the medical procedures, got the thumbs up and the surgeon was
extremely happy with what he saw and he said that to Dan.
"I spoke to the Palace chairman later and he did say that there had been a lot of
miscommunication."
Gosling now looks set to stay at St James' Park for the upcoming season, with
Hodgson admitting that no other clubs are currently in talks with his client.
"There were clubs who wanted Dan before and were interested in taking him on loan,"
he continued.
"Our problem is that we made it clear Dan wanted to join Ian Holloway so much and
we closed doors. Sometimes those doors don’t open again.
