Togo coach Didier Six arrived in the country on Friday after two months of absence, where he will hold a meeting with the Football Federation to clarify his position with the body concerning his job.
The 58-year-old former French international left his post in June after the Sparrow Hawks’ 2-0 loss to Libya in the 2014 World Cup qualifying and threatened to resign if conditions of work were not met by local authorities.
Six is not on good terms with the FA after officials claimed he is incapable of handling issues within the team following criticisms from captain Emmanuel Adebayor, who told the local press that the French coach failed help the team get past the quarterfinals at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.
In a statement issued by the FA on Wednesday, Six is expected to say whether he will continue or resign from his post.
If he wants to remain at the helm of the Hawks he must accept to reside in the West African country, which the former left winger has refused up till now.
He however maintains that the difficulties he’s facing in his job are not related to players’ sentiments or residential issues, but lack of financial and technical support from the Football Federation.
With one point from five games, Togo have been knocked out of the World Cup qualifying but will wrap up the second round against DR Congo early next month.
