DIAMBARS FC WINS SENEGALESE LEAGUE

Diambars FC, a football club founded in 2000 by former French internationals Patrick Vieira and Bernard Lama, have won their first top division title after defeating Guediawaye 4-0 at home in Saly on Sunday in the final match day of the domestic league.
Diambars had occupied the top of the table since match day five and were able to conserve their two-point lead till the 30th round.
The new champions narrowly missed the title last year when they lost at home to rivals Casa Sports in a nerve-racking final round decider.
