Arsenal’s summer frustrations look set to continue as they miss out on yet another target. AS Monaco are believed to be close to a deal for Sevilla’s Geoffrey Kondogbia.
The French club have made an official bid for the player and could seal the deal quickly. Arsenal were monitoring the French midfielder but were once again too late in making a move.
It’s a familiar situation that Arsenal have found themselves in after they were clear favourites to sign Gonzalo Higuain. Real Madrid upped the asking price and Arsenal hesitated allowing Napoli to steal in and snap him up.
Bayern Munich made Luiz Gustavo available and the Brazilian was keen on a move to the Emirates but Wolfsburg offered first and the player got away. Manchester City beat Arsenal to the signing of Stevan Jovetic and once again Arsenal’s diligence has cost them yet another player.
The Gunners are looking at moves for Yohan Cabaye and Paul Pogba, it’s uncertain whether they have learned from their previous mistakes.
