Gabriel Paulista has hailed the chance to play in the Premier League as a dream come true after joining Arsenal from Villarreal, with striker Joel Campbell going to the Spanish club on loan for the rest of the season.
The 24-year-old Brazilian centre back was granted a work permit despite not yet having played for his country and joins Arsene Wenger's side for £11.2million on a four-and-a-half year deal. 'I want to thank God for the opportunity,' he told the club's website. 'Thanks to God, this wonderful club came to me, and they can count on me to be able to help everybody here.'
Arsenal also confirmed that Campbell's loan deal was complete, but delivered the surprise news that the 22-year-old Costa Rica striker had signed a new, long-term contract before heading to Spain.
